Travel Softball
Team Boston Travel Softball offers travel teams ages U10, U12, U14, and U16. All travel softball team players enjoy pre-season training at our indoor facility located in North Reading starting in November until the season begins.
What is Travel Softball?
Travel Softball is an elite AAU team that gives you the requirements to build all mechanics and fundamentals throughout the year. Starting in early Fall we practice throughout the winter making sure our athletes have the knowledge and skill to compete in A class tournaments around the New England area starting in June and ending in August.
Travel ball is not for everyone. When it comes to the top programs it is not pay to play. It allows a player the chance to go through a tryout process which helps should they play at the High School level. In addition, they compete for a roster spot, and if they make a team, they also compete for playing time.
How to get started with Travel Softball
We recommend you spend time and research on which are the best travel teams for your player. Player development should be a top priority for the program you choose.
In addition, make sure the program which selects your player is a good fit for your entire family. You can check the AAU Softball Website for more teams’ tryout dates.
Benefits of Travel Softball
Travel softball provides off-season practice. The best programs have either College Coaches or former College female athletes teaching the mechanics and fundamentals of the game.
Off season training starts early in the Fall to give athletes the competitive edge to progress throughout the year. So, when the season actually starts they are ready to succeed. We prep our athletes for all occasions whether it is to make Varsity in High School or present themselves in front of College coaches at camps and showcases.
Common Questions
Where are the practices located?
We own our own facility located in North Reading, MA where all our indoor practices are held. Once the weather is nice we will migrate to outdoor fields in North Reading, Billerica, and Reading.
Who is the coaching staff?
Our coaches are all either former college female athletes or College/High school coaches who have over 5+ years of softball experience. You can find out more on our coaching staff page.
How many players do you typically roster per team?
Our goal for every roster is to ensure we have a solid foundation of players which is typically between 12-13. We believe in fair and equal playing time and like to rotate our players throughout the weekend.
Why You Should Consider Travel Softball
You should consider travel softball because it is the next level of competitive play for the young female athlete. The level allows them to learn the game not only on the field but outside the field building their confidence and knowledge of the game.
We compete against the best of all towns and cities and it allows the athletes to see what else is out there for opportunities to become better.
When does it start?
Our travel program starts in November with indoor practices which go all the way to March. As soon as the weather clears up, and the fields become available, we start to practice outdoors getting ready for our tournaments to begin the first weekend of June.
How much does travel softball cost?
Prices may vary, the more a program offers, the higher the price. A rough estimate would be from $1600 to $2800 depending on age of team and also tournament formats. Just be aware, these prices do not include travel costs for away from home tournaments.
All teams require a non-refundable deposit at the time the player is offered the contract. Most teams do not allow refunds, but check your contract upon signing.
At Team Boston, the non-refundable deposit is $300 due at signing. Then, we provide a ten month auto-payment schedule. All tuitions must be paid in full prior to the start of the season.
